About Our Mugs
We started as collectors of Gerold Porzellan and while doing that ran across these puzzle mugs. Other manufacturers make them, but Gerold seems to have produced more of them than anyone else. Our Gerold Porcelain collection is also being published.
When buying them on Ebay, part of the fun is looking for sellers who have no idea of what these are or what to call them. In particular, sellers frequently fail to notice the lithophane in the bottom. This makes for a buying opportunity because being able to feature "Nude Lithophane" in the title of the auction produces significantly higher bids.
